Think in two questions: recovery and autonomy.
PV capacity affects how much energy can be produced when sunlight is available and how quickly storage may recover. Battery capacity affects how long selected loads can keep running when production is low or absent. The right balance depends on both.
- Extra PV cannot provide nighttime energy unless there is storage, grid, generator or load shedding.
- Extra battery does not create energy; it needs a practical charging source and enough time to recover.
- Check inverter PV-input limits, battery charge/discharge limits, roof space and poor-weather expectations together.
